DESCRIPTION:
The terrain is often rugged, steep, windy, rocky, dusty, narrow, challenging and potentially hazardous and dangerous. Poison oak, ticks, yellow jackets, and rattle snakes are present in the park and may be encountered along the run-route. The park is owned and operated by the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District [www.mprpd.org]. START & FINISH: Both runs start at the Garland Ranch Regional Park Visitors Center. Race-day check in and bib pickup will begin at 6:45 AM. Start 8:00 AM. Finishers will need to reach the finish line by 11:00 AM. REGISTRATION: Active.com online registration closes on the Friday prior to race at 11:59 PM PST or when when sold out, so enter today! Race Day check-in begins at 6:45 AM and ends at 7:45 AM. Pre-registration is: $30 for 17 and under, 62 and over, as well as military. $50 for all others. Garland Ranch Regional Park - Location: (Please carpool if you can, thank you)

MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE COURSE:
Start at the Visitor Center, Lupine Loop West to Cooper Road, Cooper Road to Rancho Loop, Rancho Loop to Lupine Loop, Lupine Loop to Fern Trail, Fern Trail to Mesa Trail, Mesa Trail to Oakview Trail, Oakview Trail to Oakview Loop, Oakview Loop to Oakview Trail, Oakview Trail to Garzas Canyon, Garzas Canyon north/west to Mesa Trail, Mesa Trail to Sky Trail, Sky Trail to Sage Trail, Sage Trail to Maple Canyon Trail, Maple Canyon Trail west to Maple Canyon Trail, Buckeye Trail connector, Buckeye Trail to Lupine Loop, Lupine Loop east to finish at the Visitor Center. PRIZES: Custom Carmel Valley craftsman designed awards to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. All runners will get a goody-bag including a FREE beverage of choice at the Carmel Valley Kiwanis Bar just down the road at the CV Fiesta in the community park...join the fun...relax...enjoy the music...the Classic Car Show and other park activities. |
DIRECTIONS:
To reach Garland Ranch Regional Park, take Carmel Valley Road east from Highway 1 or west from Laureles Grade, park at the main entrance just off Carmel Valley Road.
